Im BAAAAACKKKK!!!! back from vacation!!!

Please excuse this post if it is random and choppy...we just drove 20 hours straight form Colorado to Michigan so I am exhausted...but I still wanted to share some stuff...This post really doesn't have much to do with DIY, but since I have not posted in a while I thought I would show you some of my pics...Don't worry..I took over 600 I think I will just share a few.
One of my faves is the one above. You know how I love to paint trees
and the Aspens and so plentiful in Colorado that
I took tons of pictures for reference for painting.

A couple of other fun pictures were the Sheep we got to see.
The rangers at Rocky Mountain National Park said they had gone
6 days without seeing the sheep. (they have to stay on duty at the local watering holes for the sheep to make sure they don't get hit) We drove in the park and they were at SHEEP LAKE and just getting ready to cross infront of us....It was amazing....I think one of these days I will try to paint a baby sheep...they were just soooo FLUFFY!!!!!!!

We got to do SOOOO much hiking while we were there and so did the kids.
they always think they are soo cool when they see the altitude signs...
(this was lower they usually hike but there favorite trail was closed)

The kids and grand parents Hiked the Milner Pass trail with us and right as we finished it a huge ROCKY MOUNTAIN thunderstorm hit....we got done JUST IN TIME....

But this is what you get after a RMNP thunderstorm...Isn't it BEAUTIFUL.

Eventually in the trip the hubby and I got to do some LONE hiking which is a little more daunting, and a lot more mileage...but oh so fun and gorgeous...

I didn't really have to use the pick ax..but some rangers were working and had left this to come back too....:)

this was one of the points when I was glad the kids were NOT hiking with us...Isn't it unbelievable...

and this was the bonus...there were 2 males and a female Moose just sitting in the field when we came back down...I will admit..I almost did soil myself because while I was taking the picture the male did a huge snort.  I forgot how loud they can be...:)

It was a top 10 day on that day..

and to finish off the trip we got to stop in and see my Brother and Sister in law for a few days...

who made sure to SUGAR UP the kids for the ride home.....THANKS!!!!   :)
and that was a little slice of our trip...
Not much DIY or painting....but lots and lots of inspirations for me.....
I hope you all have a BEAUTIFUL day...

What a gorgeous trip!!!
Great picks. That Moose was HUGE. We get Elk here, and they are pretty big too. You don't realize, until you get close. Looks like you guys had a great trip, filled with memories, that will last a lifetime =)

Awesome!!!

Karin, I poured over every picture, this would be my dream vacation. ESP hiking alone! We used to do a ton of that. I can't get over the animals! Glad you are back, and so glad you shared!

Glad you made it back & enjoyed yourself. Love the pics. Those sheep seriously don't look like sheep. I thought they were mangy deer or something lol. Got the markers & can't wait to start a project so I can use them. Thanks!
