Harlequin design dresser with homemade chalk paint and krink paint pen

So here is my newly finished homemade chalk paint and krink marker creation!!!

Do you remember when she looked like this and I got that big ole nice surprise......No it wasn't 100 bucks..
It was someones ole trusty brazier that had found its way to the back and hid quietly for who knows how long, only to be discovered by MOI!!!  OH LUCKY DAY!!  :)

Well after all the excitement was over I got to painting. I painted the dresser body a creamy white and the drawer fronts a nice blue. I used my now trusty home made chalk paint recipe that has worked wonders for me.

Once she was dry I decided I wanted to do a nice harlequin pattern on the top like I had done HERE on my cedar chest. Being the lazy....ERR, I mean smarty pants that I am, I went and found a canvas that was the size I was looking for and just used that as a template. I found the center of the dresser, placed down the canvas and started drawing on my diamonds.

Then I started filling in the diamonds with my blue chalk paint.

When it was dry I used my silver KRINK paint pen to outline the diamonds.
I used my looking glass spray paint to paint the handles and when all was dried and cured I waxed this baby.

I just love the distressed shabby chic feel she has.

I couldn't be happier with how she turned out.
I hope you enjoyed this furniture makeover
and I hope you have a BEAUTIFUL day.

  7. That looks great!! I've been eager to try my own chalk paint on an old desk (with claw feet!) I found on the side of the road. I haven't removed all of the drawers yet...hoping I find money instead of a bra!!
