magazine rack redo

Got this poor little thing looking like this....it had painted on faux grain....even though its made of wood???? I will never understand that.

So I got out my beloved sprayer and gave her a couple coats of a green that I call "organic green"
It just has a very soft subtle freshness to it.

I decide she was cute plain, but I wanted to jazz her up a little..So I went into my editing software and messed around with some text and came up with the "relax, read" deal. I decided that I wanted to add a pair of glasses, so I found an ad for glasses and found a great pair. I taped it to the graphic and made a larger copy on my printer/copier.

I then taped it to the rack and used carbon paper to transfer the design to the magazine rack.
I painted on the letters and glasses. I decided I wanted the letters to have a kind of tortoise shell look to them like the glasses.

Here she is..isn't she sassy?  I love it. I think my girls might hi-jack this one for their room.
