Scrabble tile coasters

Here is a fun little project using some things I had around the house. My sister had picked me up an old scrabble
game awhile back. (you would not believe how hard these things are to find)
I had NO idea what I was going to do with it, I just knew that I WANTED IT!!

So yesterday while it was raining.....AGAIN, I started to clean up some stuff and came across the bag with the
scrabble tiles in them. I had seen on the computer somewhere that someone had made coasters with them.
I had no idea how they did it because I didn't read the article and when I went back to find it, I couldn't.
(I didn't pin it...Grrrr)
So I went and found a bunch of paper coasters that we have (my husband is a home brewer so he "COLLECTS" them)
and I laid out my tiles.

I used rubber cement to glue them down to the paper coasters.

Once the glue was dry I cut around the edge of the paper and gave them a coat of poly.
I just love how they turned out. I think it is something fun to have when company comes over, to protect all the newly
finished furniture....:)
I hope you have a BEAUTIFUL day.

  5. Cute idea! I'm going to need to ask for a Scrabble game for Christmas so I can make these and some of the necklaces too; I don't want to use my 'real' game! Would you share this here?

  9. What a clever idea! I WOULD believe how hard they are to find...I look for old games every time I'm at a garage sale or thrift store and I've never seen Scrabble. Guess it's a hot commodity!
