How to Make a RIBBON Christmas Tree

how to make a ribbon christmas tree. Christmas DIY Easy Home decor

 Good Morning my Beauties!
SOOOOO
I wasn't planning on doing any CHRISTMAS crafts this EARLY
but "THE INTERNET ATE MY OLD POST"
Not even KIDDING.
I went and clicked a pin
which led me to my old Ribbon Tree Post
to which I saw the words...
POST NO LONGER AVAILABLE...
I went in to check my posts and
wouldn't you believe it.
My post was GONE...
I have no idea is this is when I was hacked last year and
LOCKED out for weeks or what???
So I am now taking this opportunity AGAIN;
To show you how to make RIBBON TREES for Christmas.
They even have my old Watermarks on them.

This is what you start with.
I had some old driftwood (you could use Scrap wood, or pallets or what ever you have laying around)
I took some Shiskabob skewers out of my cupboard and grabbed a roll of ribbon that I had
picked up at goodwill.
I simply drilled a small hole in my wood and dropped some glue in the hole to help stabilize the post.
But DON'T do the GLUE yet!!!!
You need to be able to keep the skewer out for a bit while using your ribbon.
Believe me I tried it both ways...much easier to work with the ribbon
without it glued into the base yet.

I gathered my ribbon and laid it out like a folded flat Christmas tree.
This is the easiest way I have found to work this out.
You have to decided how full you want your tree to be and you can
gather that by how long your skewer is and how many folds you want in your tree.

Once I had it to where I wanted it I used the pointy end of the skewer to poke through the
ribbon. I like to use the ribbon with the wire along the edges so that it makes it easier to
hold the shape.

Once you are happy with the overall shape you can NOW GLUE your post in.
let it sit and when the glue is dry you can start working the ribbon into how you want it.

As a finishing touch I just cut out some stars out of scrapbooking
paper and glued them onto the skewers.

and there you have it!
Some cute little ribbon Christmas trees.
There are so many variations
you can use on this the
ideas are endless.
I can't wait to see what you come up with.
Until Next time.
Have a BEAUTIFUL day!

Plain Goodwill Pottery Barn Pillows Transformed into CHRISTMAS pillows

Good Morning my Beauties!
Guess what..I have another Christmas project for you.
Craft wise, I am working on nothing but Christmas stuff now.
I have 3 booths that I need to fill and once Halloween is over we have direct orders to fill our
booths with Christmas. I think a lot of people are like me and use their Halloween/Fall stuff up until Thanksgiving; so not too many people around here are buying fall stuff.
That being said, my mind is always trying to think of things to do for the booth.

When shopping at Goodwill one day I spotted these 2 really nice pillows for $2 each.
I unzipped them and they are Down filled POTTERY BARN pillows. WOW!
The material was a very nice heavy cotton duck so I knew they would hold up to stenciling
and I knew just the stencil I wanted.

(You might remember last year I made some quick Reindeer Pallet art, you can see those HERE)

So I went out and grabbed my stencil and my paint. I took off the pillow covers and put a board inside of it to keep the paint from possibly bleeding through to the other side.
Once I had everything Positioned I grabbed my Master's Touch Acrylic paint in Crimson.
Its my favorite red for crafting at Christmas, because its not to dark and its not to pink and
its a nice heavy paint.

Once the paint has completely dried (I waited a couple days) I take a cloth and a hot iron and lay the cloth between the pillow covers and the iron and HEAT SET the paint.

Once that is done, I put the down inserts back in and they are ready to go...
More Merry Christmas stuff for the booth.
I hope you enjoyed this and find ways to change up thrift store or even your plain old things
laying around the house.
Have a BEAUTIFUL day!

Image transfer to wood using Iron on Paper

Good Monday Morning my Beauties! I hope you
all had a wonderful weekend.
We were very busy catching up from everyone being sick,
and lots of things on the schedule but I still managed to EEK out a little project I have been wanting to try. Now Its far from perfect since it was my first time EVER trying this method
but I am happy to say that I think I will try this again.

Here is what I started with. I had pulled this out of our neighbors trash with a
couple of other things. Its just an old Silverware holder.
You know me...you can't just throw something like that away..:)

So I slapped some of my CeCe Caldwells vintage white on it. I did it very
thin and sloppy since I wanted it to LOOK vintage.
Then I went to the graphics fairy and using T-shirt transfer paper I printed
of a Christmas Image of Mary and Baby Jesus.

Now here is why it isn't perfect. See the STEAM coming off of the iron..Yeah..not suppose to do that when using iron on paper...But my hubby being the good doobie that he is, had Ironed his shirts last week. He left it on steam...I turned it on and started without checking that.
So what it did was wrinkle the paper and give it a VERY vintage look. But honestly...
I just IRONED on an image to wood!!!!! Way easier than wax paper transfer and I think
it would have turned out even better had I not had the steam.

So while its not perfect I am pretty stoked that I just ironed it on..it took about 4 minutes once the iron was hot...My mind is racing with things I can do this on!!!
I hope you enjoyed this little Monday Morning tutorial and learn from my mistake..
NO STEAM!! :)
Have a BEAUTIFUL day!.
