Welcome back my Beauties!
I hope the Holidays are treating you right.
I have been working my tail off, getting the house ready for Christmas and all that entails, and working on makeovers.
I have had to move into my studio in the house since we have had unseasonable Cold (even for Michigan) weather.
You can see my Studio HERE
Recently I picked up this table at the local thrift shop.
It wasn't vintage or anything, but I loved all the details on it.
It was pretty beat up, but I knew I could bring it back with a little love.

I decided I wanted to do a two toned look on it so I chose
I gave the table a good sanding to scuff it up and give good adhesion and then wiped it all down to clean it up.

You can see here how it looked after its first coat.
I was loving the color combo but wanted to darken up the top.

To do that I just grabbed my General Finishes Brown Mahogany Gel stain and gave it a pass over to darken up the Gray.
After it was dry I used my wipe on Gel Topcoat to seal and protect the piece.

And here it is all prettied up.
I love the contrast of the darker top with the lighter bottom.

I also had slightly distressed all those fun details to help them POP a little bit more.

Discarded Side table given a Stencilled Makeover

discarded end table given stencilled and painted makeover bohochic before and after diy
Welcome back my Beauties!
We have a had a bit of a warm up so I have been busting my buns
to get some things ready for the booth.
I have had this poor discarded side table in my garage for a few months waiting for its makeover.
I knew it was gonna need some major sanding so I waited until I could be outside to get that done.

So as soon as it warmed up a bit, I pulled out the
Belt Sander and got to work.
I am not gonna lie..It took some major elbow grease along with that big ole belt sander to get through all the grease stains,
but I prevailed!!!
Once I used my finish sander to smooth out the top, I grabbed some dark stain I had in my garage and gave the top a quick stain.
I then cleaned up the rest of the base knowing I would be painting that.

As usual our temps dropped again and I had to bring my little project inside.
I decided this top needed to POP since it had been through such hardships. So I grabbed my

Since I wanted it to POP, I decided to go with
for the stencil.

It played off really nicely with the dark stain.
I slightly distressed it when it was dry to match the light distressing of the table.

For the base color I chose
and
to seal it off.

I couldn't be more THRILLED with how the tired and beat up old table turned out.

The light distressing against the wood and the white paint
just made my heart go pitter patter.

I think you will agree that it looks much better than before.
I am so happy to be plugging away on furniture again.
Now if this nice weather would stick around I could be much more productive.
Sadly we have a wicked snow storm headed this way as I type.
C'est LaVie!
I hope you enjoyed this latest makeover!
I will see you again once I defrost!
Until then;
Have a BEAUTIFUL day!

Outdated 80s Golden Oak Half Table Updated with Deco Art Vintage Effects Wash Paint

outdated 80s oak half round table updated deco art americana decor laurel wreath makeover
Welcome Back my Beauties.
We are in the final days before all the kiddos go back to school  ( and the hubby back to teaching high school and college) and I am in the push to start knocking out more projects before Soccer season starts.
One of the projects I finished was this Outdated 80s Golden Oak Half Table Updated with Deco Art Vintage Effects Wash Paint.
You can see here in the before it was feeling tired in is 80s golden oak finish that was starting to wear through on the top.
I decided that since it was in great shape structurally that it just needed a little bit of paint to give it a new lease on life.

I started with Deco Arts new Vintage effect wash in Black.
You can see the quick little Facebook video I made HERE
showing how easy it is to use!

I used a sponge brush to put on a thin coat over the old oak finish. (I had just lightly sanded the top to prep it for the paint)
It went on really easy and I loved how it was so quick to update the oak to the rich dark color, all while letting a little of the grain show through.

While the top was drying I decided to use Americana Decor's chalky finish paint in Vintage for the base.

Here you can see it drying after the top and the base were painted.

Once the top was dry I decided to use Americana Decors
Winterberry Wreath Stencil, Centering half way off to help accentuate the half round shape of the top.

In order to protect the whole finish of the piece I used

I love how it added an even deeper finish to the vintage wash paint on the top.
I also love how using half the stencil made the top stand out more.

I can not wait to try the new wash paints on some other projects.
I already have a couple ideas spinning in my head after cleaning out my stash of furniture this weekend.

I hope you enjoyed this latest makeover and that you all have a Beautiful week!

Welcome back, my Beauties!
It's one of my favorite days of the month!
Themed Furniture Makeover Day!

Our THEME this month is "WORDS"
I was wondering what I was going to do with this months theme until this little table from the thrift shop came around!

ROCKWELL RANDOM ORBITAL SANDER FRENCH POSTAGE PARLOR TABLE PAINTED MAKEOVER STENCIL

The last few months have been a blur with everything and I wasn't sure I was going to be able to participate this month.
I was trying to get stuff ready for my booth for the Holiday season,
and get ready to go to my Moms house in Florida to get it ready to sell. Needless to say I was stressed.
But then as I was walking through the thrift shop I spied with my little eye, this adorable vintage parlor table.
I loved the oval shape of it and the fact that it had lived a good life!
I brought it home and grabbed my sander and started taking the old scratched and grooved finish off the top.
DECO ART AMERICANA DECOR COLOR STAIN CHARCOAL TABLE FINISH SEALER IN ONE DIY

Next I grabbed some of my new favorite Deco art color stain.
Its self sealing so I don't have to worry about putting a top coat on it! I chose to do a lighter with a darker over the top for the second coat.

Once the stain was dry I could work on the WORDS part of my project.
I grabbed this cute French Postal stamp stencil and some pearl white acrylic craft paint and put down my WORDS.

Once I had my stencil down it was time to paint my base.

I chose Americana Decors Chalky finish in LEGACY.
It was the perfect Blue for this table and then I finished it off with a matte varnish.

I just LOVED how it all came together!
