French Gray Cedar Chest Makeover and Giveaway Winner Announcement

Good Morning my Beauties.
I have a fun makeover for you today
and the Link to the MUST HAVES giveaway winners.

You can see the winners HERE
Thank you all for entering.
It was so fun being able to give away
such and awesome prize.
But now lets get on with the Makeover.

I have had this cedar chest for a couple years.
I got it off craigslist for a steal.
Even though it had its issues I just love the the style of the piece.
It had personality.
At first I thought the the light spots around the star pieces were light just
from stain, but I was wrong.
The pieces had obviously fallen off at a time and they tried gluing them back on.
Well the glue permeated the finish and actually bleached the wood underneath.
The front originally I found out also had detailing on it, that must have originally fallen of and was never replaced, and the little detail strips had fallen off but I had saved them, for when I finally got around to painting it.

I got out my glue and started placing the broken pieces back on the chest.

I lightly sanded the top and gave it a coat of Ce Ce Caldwells
KuKui stain and finish and then
I mixed up a custom gray color .
I started slapping on the paint and got to work.
Once the paint had dried a did a little dry brushing to accentuate the details
then waxed and buffed the whole thing.

I am in LOVE and glad that I get to keep this piece for myself.
Although we don't use it in the traditional sense of what they were intended for,
they make great storage for back packs during the school year and
spring coats and toys during the rest of the year.

I still can't get over what a difference it makes with this piece.
I love how the ornate parts still pop and the warmth of the wood on the feet and
top gives it a timeless look.

Thank you so much for following along with me and
be sure to come back on Tomorrow for
so I can see what you have been up to.
Until then,
Have a Beautiful day!
