ART and SOUL table

I hope you are all having a Beautiful week so far. Our week has been pretty rough (with Grandpa's funeral and loosing our neighbor too) but we are keeping our heads up and our hearts open.

I thought I would show you this table I did last week. I didn't even think about it when I did it, but as I posted yesterday ARTPRIZE started here
I thought it was only fitting to show you my ART and SOUL table.

I had gotten this..I am not even gonna be nice..it was NASTY, table at Goodwill for about $5.
The top was GROSS..I don't want to know what that gunk was on the top but it seemed to be a mixture between grease and gum. Whatever it was..I scrubbed the heck out of it and then sanded the top.

I got out my CeCe Caldwells paints...and painted the base in Georgia Clay and the top in Hershey Brown. I then applied the wax and while that was curing I went to my NEW silhouette machine.

This was my first time trying and I honestly couldn't believe how easy it was.

I typed out one of my favorite quotes and set it to cut.

once the wax was cured and buffed I added my stencil. I first did the letters in the leg color and
then went over top of that with white.

When It was all dry I distressed it and waxed it.

I just love how this nasty old table is now a beautiful piece.  I love that when I buffed the top color the natural wood color came through adding to its richness.

I hope you enjoyed this tutorial; and I hope you have a BEAUTIFUL day.

So sorry to hear about your Grandfather!

Karin, that is a beautiful quote and the table is gorgeous. I am setting aside some cash to buy a silhouette. So much I want to try!

PS They had to change the name of the paint from Hershey Brown to "Virginia Chestnut". Those Hershey people are really picky! Even if it was the city!

So sorry for your loss. Your table looks great (found you at the Shabby Nest) and I've got to admit, I'm a little green - I've been wanting a Silhouette for awhile now. Maybe Christmas!

Awesome quote, too!
