FREE armoire turned into outdoor Garden Potting Center

OLD FREE TV ARMOIRE TURNED OUTDOOR FARMHOUSE STYLE POTTING SHED
Today I am resharing a BLAST from the PAST!!
One of my most viewed projects!

WHEW!!! What a doozie!! ITs done...almost..I just have to seal it with Exterior
spar urethane when its cured but other than that.....Its done!!! :)

This is what it looked like BEFORE....Our friend had moved and somehow his armoire had gotten
broken in the move.

You can see here the door was ripped off at one of the joints. I thought about fixing it
since the original plan was to put it in our bedroom...but with the broken door
I thought I had a BETTER idea..
You see I have been looking around Pinterest and been wanting
a potting shed forever and Pinterest wasn't helping curb
my appetite. So one night while the thing sat on my patio
I thought...BINGO...potting shed...

Now I know its Oak and its meant to be inside but I also know that I want it to weather and look old.
Sooo.....PERFECT.

I just happened to LUCK out at Home Depot and scored a
$7 gallon of  Behr Primer and Paint ULTRA..
Its a $32 gallon and the color was perfect..
Someones OOPS paint was my PERFECT paint.

Well the Oops paint score further enticed the bug in my butt, or bee in my bonnet,
Whatever you want to call it. NOW I had to do it. It was such a BEAUTIFUL day
and its not suppose to rain for the next few days, so NO time like the
present....SOOO I painted the outside with the oops and the inside with a pale yellow paint that I
Had..You see...SO far I have spent only $7.....That's IT...

While the paint was drying I was thinking what I wanted to do to decorate and enhance my
new beloved potting center. Well I remembered I had just bought these cool little
rod iron brackets at Goodwill...So.......

OLD FREE TV ARMOIRE TURNED OUTDOOR FARMHOUSE STYLE POTTING SHEDI grabbed a scrap piece of wood, painted it with the oops paint and attached my brackets.

While that was drying I had found some more scrap deck boards that I had painted with the oops paint too...Those I just quickly painted on "herbs" and "flowers"

I started putting it all together...Loving it more and more.
I found an old shelf in my shed with hooks on it, just laying in my shed. I had gotten it
Free from my sister....Thanks Stacy..:)

You see the cute little block shelf on the bottom...that used to be the DVD holder that was hanging from the top..I just flipped it over and hacked off some of the trim so that
it could lay flat.

I also had some slate tiles in my shed that I had also gotten for.....WAIT FOR IT........... FREE!!!.....:)

so TOTAL cost....11 bucks...HA!! I love it!!!

ITS BEAUTIFUL.....At least to me...I hope you think its a BEAUTY too...

Dogwood Dresser Makeover with KRINK marker and Ce Ce Caldwell paint

Feeling a bit nostalgic today on the blog.
This is still a favorite of mine and
just made me feel happy all over.
Come see the transformation of
this plain Jane dresser into a dynamite dogwood beauty

Dogwood handpainted artwork dresser makeover Krink permanent paint pen hand drawn diy makeover

Hand painted artwork dogwood dresser makeover orange and blue compimentary colors diy before and after recycled
Can you believe that THIS beauty;

Used to look like THIS???

I saved this dresser from the big furniture dumpster in the sky!
A.K.A. the CRUSHER. It was priced at only 7 bucks at the thrift store because they were trying to get rid of it. If I didn't buy it then it meant that most likely it would go to the
furniture recycling plant which is actually a giant CRUSHER!
Oh the HUMANITY!! I had to save it!

So I brought it home and it SAT in my garage for ......MONTHS!
My wonderful hubby asked me every day; "what are you going to do with it"
I had NO idea....:) It had  become a STORAGE of sorts. Lots of things started to
pile up on top of it...It was time to GO.

So much UNLIKE the A-team..I didn't have a plan...I never do...
I just walked out in my garage and went...hmmmm..
Grabbed the paintbrush....tooled through my paints and picked out my latest fave..
CeCe Caldwells and let the FUN begin!
Look at it... better already!!

It was at this point that I decided to recreate my Dogwood dresser, but in
different colors. You know me...I have a hard time with WHITE and BLACK unless of
course they are in some crazy sort of pattern.
I drew out my dogwoods and then Grabbed my OH SO FAVORITE paint pen in the
whole wide world ...My KRINK

Now I am sure you have all heard me GUSH about how much I love them and this is why!
I drew on my first coat of orange in about 10 minutes....DO YOU HAVE AN IDEA HOW LONG
IT WOULD HAVE TAKEN ME TO PAINT IT ON WITH  A BRUSH????
NOT 10 minutes that's for sure.

after going over it again in a second coat I found some old handles that I had gotten
at a garage sale this past weekend. I got a hodge podge in a ziplock bag for 2 bucks.
I found some that worked and spray painted them in the same color coral as the flowers.

I can't even believe this is the same piece of furniture.

Poppy flowered Night stand

This post uses affiliate links to help you find the products I trust and love

Here is another project that I decided that I want to put my own personal touch on.

My girlfriend gave me this nightstand that used to be her hubby's and it as is the usual with me; been sitting in my shed..:)

Well, this weekend we got some BEAUTIFUL weather, so I painted a bunch of furniture. This is what it looked like, just painted.

Cute all on its own, but not good enough for me....:)
I LOVE poppy's...I don't know what it is about them...I just love them...so I decided that I wanted this to have a poppy on it. I looked at tons of pictures online and got one I thought would work for this nightstand. This is not the type of picture you can "just transfer" This one had to be painted. So I got to drawing it on, and started painting.

Just so you know, artists don't always use fancy brushes and such...one part of the center flower needed cute little perfect circles. Guess what I used for that????? A q-tip...that's right....this makes perfect little circles...:)
This is before I added more shading and distressing.....
and here she is all finished...I hope you like it....I had so much fun..listening to music and painting on this rainy windy cold day...
I hope you have a BEAUTIFUL day!!!!!

Before and After MANLY...(handsome) Dresser Makeover

This post uses affiliate links to help you find the products I trust and love
before-and-after-custom-dresser-makeover-collage-artisbeauty.net
Good Morning my Beauties...
Its Makeover Monday again and this time I have painted something for the
MEN. (raise your hand if I have male readership..:)
I often paint lots of things in colors that are not MY taste but those of the people buying my
furniture. They are not for me so I figure I will paint them the colors my customers want.
This is one such case.

I had picked up this dresser a while ago at Goodwill and let it sit in my garage...as is my NORMAL M.O.  :) Hubby just LOVES that ...
I usually let them sit so that I can be inspired by HOW  they want to be painted.
This dresser sat and sat, because honestly I didn't want to do another GIRLY dresser.

I started to PREP it one day this summer BEFORE we started to paint our house.
I thought, I will just get it READY so that when I am INSPIRED it will be ready to paint.
I filled the old hardware holes since the people who had donated it had already changed the hardware and were only using ONE hole on each side. I sanded those down once they were dry and sanded down all the nicks and scratches and watermarks.  It was at this point that inspiration struck.
I realized at that moment this was meant to be a HANDSOME dresser; NOT a girly dresser. :)
I started mixing up some fun paint that I like to call either GUN METAL GREEN or
SHARK FIN. Its so hard to decide on the name because it is a custom mix of blues and greens.
I painted the whole thing with this custom color in a very thin coat.
I wanted the wood grain to come through just a bit to keep that almost WASHED finish.
I waxed it and buffed it and was thrilled with how it came out.

artisbeauty.net-custom-green-close-up-dresser-copper
I then went into my treasure trove of knobs that I save from every single project I have ever done (another think the old hubby is thrilled with) and found the exact number of copper knobs.
Giving it that even more Masculine feeling.
I am happy to say that it also SOLD,
before I even had a chance to put up this post.
SO I guess my instincts were right to wait for HIM to tell me he wanted to be
HANDSOME.....
I hope you enjoyed this weeks makeover!
Make sure to come back tonight to link up to the
Twirl and Take a Bow Link Party to show us what YOU have been working on
for a chance to be FEATURED!
Until next time.
Go make someones day BEAUTIFUL.
