Art Deco Vanity and Bench Custom Green Makeover

Since PANTONE released their 2017 color "greenery" I thought it would be fun to re share some fun
"GREEN" pieces I have done over the years.
Today I will re Share my Art Deco Vanity!

Welcome back my Beauties!
Today's Painted furniture makeover is inspired by
St. Patrick's day!
I chose to makeover this Art Deco Vanity
in honor of the Emerald Isle,
which is my opinion one of the most beautiful and green places in the world. :)
(you can see our visit to Ireland HERE)

I loved the style of this blonde vanity but it had some major cosmetic issues.
Being that I was working on this inside in the winter I really didn't want to start sanding in my basement.

So instead I pulled out my General Finishes Java Gel stain and gave the top a few coats to darken it up (I did lightly hand sand the top for the best adhesion)

While the top was drying I gave the base a coat of Emerald Green Milk Paint.
I took off the old hardware which I loved and cleaned it up and gave it a coat of gold paint.

I went through my stash of fabric and found this awesome green and blue pattern fabric.
I recovered the old bench and the vanity was ready to be photographed.

Here are those original handles all painted up and reattached.
I loved the style of those handles.

And here it is all back together.
I love the freshness of the green and the vibrancy.
It really made this piece pop and reminds me all the green country side of Ireland.

I also love how the Java Gel warmed up the top and gave it some attitude. :)
I am so happy with how this turned out.

When I saw the green, I was unsure that I would like it. The upholstery material and that painting tied it all together, though and I think it is awesome! Definitely a great upcycle. Love the wood top, too!
