postage table

Here is a table I picked up a few weeks ago...it was waiting in the garage with all my other JUNK, errr, I mean stuff, that I needed for my projects. When I started it I got so INSPIRED..:) that I forgot to take the BEFORE picture. It was just a plain oak table. The top had previously had little spindles around the top but those were gone when I bought it at Goodwill, so I just used wood filler and primed the heck out of the table.
Once it was done being primed I painted it in a satin gray paint.

Then I went to my trusty GRAPHICS FAIRY and got the fabulous postage graphic.

I used transfer to get the image onto the table, and then painted it on.

Then I distressed and lacquered the table.
I just love how it turned out.

http://www.stayathomenation.blogspot.com/  featured my table. Make sure you stop by and tell her I sent you.

Have a beautiful day!!!

Great idea. You've inspired me to do something with my little table aside from painting it.

This is great! So did you just use carbon paper to transfer the image? Or is that what you mean by transfer paper?

That looks great! I'm glad Lauren asked about the transfer paper....I had the same question! That's a great idea to use carbon paper. I need to learn how to use graphics fairy. Thanks for linking to Thrifty Thursday! :)

Love it so much! I've been "itching" to do a postal table ... just might have to! I love the color you chose and how you then distressed it! Graphics Fairy is amazing, isn't it? Thanks for sharing. *Becca* (new follower)

I have seen this graphic being use all over lately! I just put it on a dresser I sold last weekend. I love it so much. I use a different method of transfer. Just scribble all over the back of the image with a pencil and lay it on your piece then trace over the image front with a ball point pen and voila you leave the lead print on your wood =) Please stop by and share this at my VIP party today... http://designergarden.blogspot.com/2011/08/vip-party-24.html
