Knock Off Ballard Designs "THEATRE" (theater) sign

I just wanted to quick show you guys a sign I did for a friend of mine.
She is the sweetest thing and always thinking of others
even though she has some HUGE things going on in her life.
She emailed me one day and said that her niece was going to go to collage for Theater and
would love to have one of those "ballard designs" Theatre signs for her.
She asked if I could make one for her.
Well whip one up I did....Pretty much in one day.....:)
I found the perfect size board that just happened to be in the hubby's "burn" pile from the last SHED clean out...Luckily I got it before he did.
I quick gave it a white wash and when it was dried I just spaced out the tape
equal lengths apart.

Then  in the open spacing I went over the uncovered white parts with dark red acrylic paint.

once that was dry I used some transfer carbon paper and just outlined the letters on the board and painted them in with black paint. I then got out my HANDY DANDY Krink paint pen
and outlined them in white. When that was dry I added a quick black wash all around the edge to give it an old look and then distressed the whole thing.

I just found out my friend gave the gift so now I can show it off!!
So I hope you enjoyed!!
Have a BEAUTIFUL day!!

Came over from Shabbilicious. Wouldn't this be cute over a set of vintage theater seats? Actually once the background is painted, just about any word could be used. Great job!
