Welcome back my Beauties!
It's time again for another edition of DIY FURNITURE GIRLS
THEMED FURNITURE MAKEOVER.
Every month we have a theme and this months theme is Glitz and Glam!
As you can see from the above picture, this piece was nothing close to Glitz OR Glam!
It was sad really.
I picked up this little waterfall nightstand for a couple bucks at the thrift shop.
The veneer was peeling and missing quite a bit, but I didn't let that stop me from making this little gem over.
I tried to remove some of the veneer from the bottom to even it up, but wouldn't you know,
this stuff wasn't going anywhere. Seems the reason the other parts peeled off was because they used ALL the GLUE on the other part of the veneer!
Since it wouldn't budge with my usual techniques I decided to go with the path of LEAST Resistance!
I grabbed my Random Orbital Sander and made short work of smoothing out the edges of the veneer with the wood underneath.
Once I had it nice and smooth I wiped it down and got ready to paint.
I wanted a custom color so I mixed Rouge and cameo to get the color I wanted.
Once the paint was dry I choose Americanas Ultra matte finish for my top coat
Once the GLAMMING was done we could finally get to the GLITZ!
I grabbed one of my stencils and some GOLD Acrylic paint to give me a nice geometric feel.
And HERE it is!!
I love the total transformation!
Just a little bit of paint and some sanding and you have a dud turned Dazzler!
What a difference!
Come on over and see what all my friends have transformed! They won't disappoint!

Karin,
Your quick thinking and vision for this ugly duckling has turned this nightstand into a swan.
