I picked up this Vintage Waterfall chest of drawers at the local thrift shop.
It had seen better days but I wanted to see if I could somehow make her beautiful again.
I had wanted to save the veneer on the drawer fronts but once I started really looking I could see it was not veneer at all;
but some kind of very thin paper.
Since I knew the drawers weren't going to be salvageable as they were I focused on using my Random orbital sander to take the finish down on the top and the first drawer.
Once the sanding was done I prepped the rest for paint and used some Wipe on Poly to finish the parts of the wood that had been sanded
For the base I used my General Finishes Driftwood Gray Milk paint and gave the whole thing 2 coats.
I just grabbed the old beat up hardware and gave it a coat of
I loved how keeping that little bit of wood tone helped make this dresser pop against the paint.
It truly shows off the waterfall style!
I think you will agree that it looks a bit more beautiful now.
I hope you will head on over and see all the places we show that we share our stuff.
