Welcome back my Beauties!
I hope the Holidays are treating you right.
I have been working my tail off, getting the house ready for Christmas and all that entails, and working on makeovers.
I have had to move into my studio in the house since we have had unseasonable Cold (even for Michigan) weather.
You can see my Studio HERE
Recently I picked up this table at the local thrift shop.
It wasn't vintage or anything, but I loved all the details on it.
It was pretty beat up, but I knew I could bring it back with a little love.

I decided I wanted to do a two toned look on it so I chose
I gave the table a good sanding to scuff it up and give good adhesion and then wiped it all down to clean it up.

You can see here how it looked after its first coat.
I was loving the color combo but wanted to darken up the top.

To do that I just grabbed my General Finishes Brown Mahogany Gel stain and gave it a pass over to darken up the Gray.
After it was dry I used my wipe on Gel Topcoat to seal and protect the piece.

I love the contrast of the darker top with the lighter bottom.

Small Dresser given a Regal Makeover

Beat up old small dresser given a regency style makeover with general finishes Persian Blue paint

Happy Monday my Beauties!
I hope some of you are feeling spring finally.

We still seem to be stuck in a bit of the inbetween.
We are getting more sun, but wicked winds and cold air.
Of course its soccer season as well so that means lots of sitting out in that cold wind.
Hopefully soon though it will be warm and much more enjoyable weather.
The weather hasn't stopped the makeovers though.
It just means I have been working quicker during the daytime hours with the help of the garage furnace.
One of those pieces I decided to give a bit of a Regal Makeover.
You can see from the above picture that this piece kinda looked like I feel after a long looooong winter.
:)
It is a bit beat up and tired and feels like I might fall apart at any minute.

But that wasn't going to stop me from making her beautiful again.
You can see here even the top had seen a lot of life.

Thats when I decided to pull out my arsenal of tools.
I grabbed my Rockwell Random orbital sander and got to smoothing out the deep gouges.
Then when that was done I pulled out my General Finishes Persian Blue Paint and gave her a couple coats.
While that dried I simply cleaned up the old hardware and gave it a coat of Gold Spray paint.

Discarded Side table given a Stencilled Makeover

discarded end table given stencilled and painted makeover bohochic before and after diy
Welcome back my Beauties!
We have a had a bit of a warm up so I have been busting my buns
to get some things ready for the booth.
I have had this poor discarded side table in my garage for a few months waiting for its makeover.
I knew it was gonna need some major sanding so I waited until I could be outside to get that done.

discarded side table belt sanded ready for paint and stencil and stain before and after
So as soon as it warmed up a bit, I pulled out the
Belt Sander and got to work.
I am not gonna lie..It took some major elbow grease along with that big ole belt sander to get through all the grease stains,
but I prevailed!!!
Once I used my finish sander to smooth out the top, I grabbed some dark stain I had in my garage and gave the top a quick stain.
I then cleaned up the rest of the base knowing I would be painting that.

As usual our temps dropped again and I had to bring my little project inside.
I decided this top needed to POP since it had been through such hardships. So I grabbed my
Placed it where I wanted it and got to work.

Since I wanted it to POP, I decided to go with
for the stencil.

It played off really nicely with the dark stain.
I slightly distressed it when it was dry to match the light distressing of the table.

For the base color I chose
and
to seal it off.

I couldn't be more THRILLED with how the tired and beat up old table turned out.

The light distressing against the wood and the white paint
just made my heart go pitter patter.

I think you will agree that it looks much better than before.
I am so happy to be plugging away on furniture again.
Now if this nice weather would stick around I could be much more productive.
Sadly we have a wicked snow storm headed this way as I type.
C'est LaVie!
I hope you enjoyed this latest makeover!
I will see you again once I defrost!
Until then;
Have a BEAUTIFUL day!

Custom Blue Green Nightstand Makeover using General Finishes Milk Paint and Gel Stain

outdated orange pine nightstand makeover using general finishes paint and gel stain
Welcome back my Beauties!
I feel like it has been so long!
I have still been working like crazy on makeovers,
but spending more time just getting things into the booth and not having time to show you the befores and afters.
(If you follow me on instagram stories you can see what I am up to when I don't have a chance to blog about it)
I know I am not the only one that felt like January was 4 months long, and now February is feeling like its about 2 weeks long.

One of the things I did get a chance to photograph was this old outdated orange yellow nightstand.
I loved the bones of it but the color just wasn't doing it for me.

In order to get started on this, I decided to go with a two tone finish.
I cleaned the piece up and got to work.
For the drawer fronts I took off the old hardware and used General Finishes Gray gel stain in two coats to give the fronts a nice light gray color.
When they were dry I used their Gel coat to seal and protect.

For the base I decided to mix up a custom color.
I used one to one ratio
and General Finishes Emerald green for a deep green blue color.
I love how it turned out and how deep the color was.
It feels eclectic but with a little nautical color too.
I grabbed some Vintage lattice brass knobs from my collection to add another layer of fun to the piece.

I love how easy it was to transform it from outdated to
Eclectic!

I couldn't be happier with how it turned out.
I am so happy to be back with you guys.
I already photographed two other pieces this same day so hopefully I will be able to show you more soon.
Until then,
Have a BEAUTIFUL day!
