Thing one and Thing two

Well, here is the story of a couple of NOT so pretty chairs.
I got these at my local goodwill for only $4.99.
They were very sturdy and surprisingly enough.."made in Poland"...:)
I had heard of Polish glass, but had never heard much of Polish furniture.

Anyway, even though they were very well made, I was not a fan of the red stain and the pink vinyl covering on the seats...YUCK!

Soooooooooo, I got to priming them....

and while I waited for the primer to dry, I got to covering the seats with my material.

notice again..the yucky...(yes that is a scientific term) pink vinyl...:)

also notice the ton of staples and why I covered over this and didn't pull them all out!!!!

and here she is all covered....MUCH BETTER!!!

Now I could get to painting in an heirloom white.

And then to distressing......

and then re-attaching the seats to the chair....

and then I hand painted on No. 1 and No.2 on the back of the chairs. I have seen these in so many posts, I don't even know who to give credit too...:)

now look how perfect they look with my "french label table"..

I hope you have a beautiful day!

Our Thrift Store isn't as inexpensive as yours, but I can find great stuff. The clothes are a lot cheaper and my daughter is always finding something. You did a fabulous job on all three of your items. The distressing of your table top gives me an idea of what to do with my veneer teak table. Thanks for sharing.
