GOODWILL mudroom bench makeover

The DIY Dreamer

Since I will be busy with my Garage sale today, I thought I would put up
a quick makeover on this cute little bench  I got at Goodwill.
I have never seen a bench like this so I don't know what to call it.
I think it would make a great mud room bench since
it has the storage underneath for shoes and such.

Here you can see the before with its 60's style wood
and louvered doors.

And here you can see it getting is makeover with some
Ce Ce Caldwells chalk paint in Destin blue.
I love how fast this paint drys.

Once it was dry I dry brushed a little bit of yellow on the doors to make it POP
and then painted the handles the same yellow.

I then waxed it and it gave it an even lovelier Patina.

I love how cute it turned out. It turned out to be quite the little hidden gem.
I hope you all have a BEAUTIFUL day.
Wish me luck with the garage sale.  (hubby is REALLY anxious to get that
garage cleaned out.....) I don't know why..he knows I will just fill it
back up again....:)   LOVE YOU HONEY....Yes he does read this..:)

The Destin blue is wonderful on this piece and the addition of the yellow really made it pop! Hope it makes a good mudroom bench for you. visiting from Angie's party. :-) Sue

The timing of this post is impeccable. I just picked up a very similar bench at a yard sale for FREE. Yes, free. I bought so much other stuff that the lady threw it in my pile. I wasn't sure what to do with it but your bench has inspired me! Thanks.
