Goodwill Mantle Mirror Makeover

IhookedupwithHoHlamespice

Good Morning my Beauties, or at least I hope so.
For those of you that follow on Facebook, I know I said I wasn't going to do a post
because of my migraine, but I didn't want to disappoint...
Plus we are suppose to have some Ice Storm so I thought I better do this in
case we loose power or something and the kids are home.......AGAIN...:)

I thought I would quick show you this Mirror I had gotten at Goodwill.
I loved the shape of it and am sure it came off a dresser or vanity.
I was not in love with the dark stain though. Normally I like the richness of it...but it wasn't a
pretty wood or grain and I have an Oak mantle. I didn't like how it looked together.
So I just grabbed some of my Vintage White Ce Ce Caldwells paint and slapped on a couple coats.

Making sure to not be too careful, since I wanted it look like it had been painted and repainted and scuffed and old...:)

When it was done, I used a green scrub sponge and scuffed it up some more...then I waxed it..

and VOILA...I love it....It looks perfect on my mantle now and am loving it painted...
See short and simple...
I hope you enjoyed this little post and hopefully tomorrow I will be
as good as new.
Have a BEAUTIFUL day!!!!

Amazing what a couple coats of paint can do! Love the transformation, Karin!

Karin-That looks great painted. It turned out great! I love the lines of the piece. Did you take the mirror out before you painted it or tape it instead? I have a big one to do and haven't started yet-because I can't decide whether to remove the mirror...xo Diana

Oh can I please have that mirror when you're tired of it? I'm a very patient person. I so love mirrors in different shapes, what a wonderful transformation you did on it. The chalk paint was the perfect solution. Aren't you clever for seeing that. Enjoy. Why can't I find something great like that at our Goodwill? Guess I get there too late. Maybe I could go tomorrow to see what's hanging out there. See if I can budge hubs.

Wow! Stunning makeover!

I am now sold on using my CeCe Caldwell vintage white on my latest find, a boring brown cabinet with lovely details. Go and have a look at my latest post!

Well done Karin!:)

Your mirror looks terrific and it looks great where you placed it above the mantel! Don't you just love Goodwill?
