Scrabble tile coasters

Here is a fun little project using some things I had around the house. My sister had picked me up an old scrabble
game awhile back. (you would not believe how hard these things are to find)
I had NO idea what I was going to do with it, I just knew that I WANTED IT!!

So yesterday while it was raining.....AGAIN, I started to clean up some stuff and came across the bag with the
scrabble tiles in them. I had seen on the computer somewhere that someone had made coasters with them.
I had no idea how they did it because I didn't read the article and when I went back to find it, I couldn't.
(I didn't pin it...Grrrr)
So I went and found a bunch of paper coasters that we have (my husband is a home brewer so he "COLLECTS" them)
and I laid out my tiles.

I used rubber cement to glue them down to the paper coasters.

Once the glue was dry I cut around the edge of the paper and gave them a coat of poly.
I just love how they turned out. I think it is something fun to have when company comes over, to protect all the newly
finished furniture....:)
I hope you have a BEAUTIFUL day.

Very nice. My cousin paints scrabble tiles and makes necklace charms out of them. :)

Cute idea! I'm going to need to ask for a Scrabble game for Christmas so I can make these and some of the necklaces too; I don't want to use my 'real' game! Would you share this here?

What a clever idea! I WOULD believe how hard they are to find...I look for old games every time I'm at a garage sale or thrift store and I've never seen Scrabble. Guess it's a hot commodity!

You could use the board as backing for the coasters! Then you'd have the triple word score, etc around the edges! LOVE THIS! Thank you for sharing and linking to Wicked Awesome Wednesday!
