Guest Post Freezer Paper transfer French Wine plaque

So this is my very first ever guest post and I am so honored that Brooke from Get out of my Head Please, asked me to do this. I admit I am also nervous since its my first time..:)
My name is Karin and I have my Blog ART IS BEAUTY.
I was a stay at home mom to 4 kids and once they were all in school my wonderful husband suggested that I don't JUST go back to work; but do something that I really loved. I had put my interests on hold for years and now it was my turn to do what I enjoyed;  ART and Projects.  I started painting pictures again and even putting my paintings on my furniture, I also got a booth where I am lucky enough to get to sell my creations.  It has been a very wonderful and exciting journey for me.   BUT enough about me, on to the fun stuff.
One of my favorite things to do is a freezer paper transfer. I have used this multiple times when I needed a quick little decoration or a nice transfer for a piece of furniture.
You can see my full tutorial on that HERE, and where I got my information from.

While at my local goodwill the other day I found this little plaque that was already painted but left plain. I got this baby for 99 cents. (can't beat that)

So I went to my wonderful resource for so many graphics; Miss Karen over
at the GRAPHICS FAIRY.
I found a nice vintage wine graphic and used my freezer paper that is glued to card stock
and ran it through my printer. One of the nice bonuses that my printer has is a reverse printing option, so all I have to do is click that and it prints it backwards.

So I printed this off on my freezer paper, and since the board was already dry and the ink was wet, I set it where I wanted it and used a big spoon to burnish it to the board. Being very careful not to even move the paper in the slightest so it doesn't smudge. Now the nice thing when working with a painted surface is that if it turns out totally horrible, you can quick wipe it off, it may leave a little residual ink, but just pretend you meant to do that.  :)
When the ink is dry, a few hours depending on temp, you can use a spray poly to protect the surface.
VOILA, you have a nice little vintage wine plaque.

I really hope you guys enjoyed this and hope I didn't flub it up too much. I would like to thank  Brooke again for asking me to do this. It was my pleasure.
Have a BEAUTIFUL day!

I've wanted to try this for a while now..maybe now would be a good time to ask if "freezer paper" is the same thing as "wax paper"?

I've also given you a Liebster award. Check out my blog to find out more :)

This is lovely! Thank you for sharing... I have used freezer paper as a carrier for fabric printing but didn't know you could do this with it too!

Found you via Brag Monday!

This is a great project. I want to give it a try but first I have a couple of questions. Are you printing on the wax side of the freezer paper? What kind of printer are you using?

Hi there. I'm a new follower and I love your project! I tried to find this graphic on the graphics fairy. I searched wine, french, and everything else I could think of but couldn't find it. Can you please tell me what date it was posted there? Thanks so much.

I could not respond to the readers as they were no reply comment-ers. I tried to respond here but for some reason google keeps erasing the messages.
