Hello my BEAUTIES!
I hope you all had a wonderful weekend.
I honestly can't remember what we did, just a general FAMILY business
for the whole weekend.
Before all the hub bub of the weekend I was able to knock off this fun sign.
Its a quote by JOHN MUIR.
I have long been a lover of his words.
In his lifetime of Exploration, Writing, and Passionate Political Activism,
he became Americas most ELOQUENT spokesperson for the mystery and majesty of
the Wilderness.
And seeing as we just planned out Summer Mountain Vacation I thought it was quite fitting. :)

I grabbed one of my old cupboard doors from my stash and got to work

I have been using and LOVING Deco Arts AMERICANA Chalky Finish paints and
decided they would be perfect for this project.
I first coated the door in the color CAMEO.

Once it was dry I did a thin coat of the color "NEW LIFE" over the top.
Making sure not to totally cover the base color.

Once that was dry I used the new creme wax to seal the whole board and distress the spots
where I wanted the deep burnt orange color to show through.
It went on like BUTTER..
After the wax was dry and buffed I then went to my Silhouette cameo
and used my program to cut out my quote "the mountains are calling and I must go"
One of John Muirs most famous quote about his beloved outdoors.
I used Americana's LACE color to paint on my graphic.
After it dried, I pulled off my vinyl stencil and used the wax again over the top to seal it again.

I love the distressed finish and the beautiful colors of the sign
(I fell in love with this style of sign after seeing it so many times on line
on many shopping sites)

I have to say, I am so pleased with my sign
and every time I look at it I think of MY beloved MOUNTAINS
that I get to go see again this SUMMER.

Until next time,
Go make someones day BEAUTIFUL!
Hugs,
Karin
