Well Good Morning again my Beauties. Thank you all for you kind thoughts while winter illness has
run rampant through my house.:) Luckily I had finished a few projects when the first child was sick
so I have something to post about. :)
At the very beginning of the school year, my sister called me and she was at a Goodwill Warehouse
sale and she said..there is this table and its missing a drawer and really beat up but its only a dollar..
I told her GRAB IT!!
I found a perfect piece of wood to fit where the drawer used to be and then used wood filler to smooth it all out. When it was dry I sanded it smooth. You can't even tell anymore there used to be a drawer there.
Then came to choosing the color. I go back and forth between some of my faves and right now
CeCe Caldwells Traverse City Cherry is it, along with Virginia Chestnut.
So I painted the base red and the top with the chestnut and then gave the red a wash with the chestnut to deepen the color even more.
So I used one of my stencils with some vintage white and kind of Blotch-i-ly (is that a word)
stenciled the top. I didn't want it to look perfect. I wanted it to look worn.
When it was all dry I went over it all with a light aging wax and buffed it.

Love it, Karin!!! Hope everyone is feeling better! Looks like I'm on the upswing. Doing stuff still tires me out, but if I pace myself, I'm good. :) Love the makeover and I cannot believe there used to be a drawer there! You do such fantastic work!!!!
Very nice work. I love seeing such a successful rescue of quality furniture!
