French "Maison" Side Table

Is it Monday?  ALREADY?  Is it just me, or do the days just go faster and faster?
I know my whole summer is just zipping by.
But along with all the crazy summer stuff we are trying to cram into
our small window of sunshine, I have still managed to finish a few projects.

Here is a table I had gotten at a Garage Sale for $5.
I was so excited to get a "naked" table...
It was like starting with a blank canvas.

I got out my Dark walnut stain, cause I wanted the table to have some UMPH...
I didn't want any sissy light stain...:)

Once that was dry I gave it a coat of Ce Ce Caldwell's Traverse City Cherry.
(being a Michigan girl...it is one of my Faves)

While the paint was curing I decided I wanted to use a "Graphics Fairy" graphic
and she had just put up this one.................LOVE !!!!!!!!
So I used my Carbon Paper (transfer paper) and just printed off on my printer and traced
it onto my table top. I then used my white Krink paint pen and
started coloring in the lines.

when that was done I free handed a little Fleur de lis and distressed the heck out of the top.

I sealed it with a clear satin finish

waxed and distressed the paint...

and ended up with this!
I am so pleased!! I love the deep red and and dark stain.
Its my rustic little French Side table.
I hope you all have a BEAUTIFUL day!!!!!

Beautiful and you used CeCe Caldwell paint!

Turned out cute, and I'd say you have a pretty steady hand. I tried to color in the lines on something and had to sand it off and start all over!

Came over from DIY to see your table. It is always nice to start with a blank canvas. Your vision was wonderful and your design fit with the table's sexy legs!

What a beautiful use of a transfer on a dark piece of wood furniture--I like the effect a lot. I've seen it done on a lot of white objects and furniture, but not on a pretty darker-hued piece such as your table--it inspires me!
