Good Morning my Beauties!
Let me tell you...this project was a doozie!
I always...always forget when I do a dining table and 4 chairs, how much more work it is than
doing other large pieces.
You see I have once again I had this sitting in my garage for about.......OH 6 months..
I just didn't know what I wanted to do with it.
So there it sat.....and sat.....and sat...
I started stripping the disgusting fabric off the seats...I am not exaggerating when I say DISGUSTING either....
It only had about 1 billion stables...my lucky day..LOL!!
I honestly really had no idea what I wanted to do yet..I just knew I didn't want to do the brown top or stained top like the last few dining sets that I had done before.
I wanted a vintage feel so I started painting the top white and the
legs and chairs with CeCe Caldwells Traverse City Cherry..If you haven't noticed..
Its one of my faves!!
But then what...I remember a while back I had seen this GORGEOUS dining table on Pinterest
from http://www.blackberryhouse.net/
It was a chore tracking down who originally did this but I just wanted to make sure
they got the credit for the original idea.
Now I didn't want to copy exactly so I made up a stencil with my Silhouette that
read "farm fresh" and put it at each end of the table
after I added my stripes.
while all that was drying I recovered the chairs with this gorgeous fabric I had been saving..I got the end of a bolt at Hobby Lobby...I was so excited that they had enough..
Once it was all dry I distressed the heck out of it to give it that vintage feel and then waxed and used the satin finish to protect the top..
And that my Beauties is all she wrote! I am now looking forward to painting some smaller pieces..
and moving this up to my booth...So I can sell it...:)
I hope you enjoyed this long...long...project..well at least for me it was..
Have a BEAUTIFUL day!

Oh my gosh! Kaaaaarin! It's beautiful! The top total reminds me of vintage grain sacks. And that fabric is perfect! Here's another fave! Pinning!!!!
LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE everything about it LOVE!!
Worth it indeed! Turned out so beautiful!! Nice job.
Looks great! Luv the stripes! I'm feeling your pain, I'm painting a whole dining room set now, a VERY large dining room set. Fortunately the client just wants a simple distressed white, not as fun as this, but with these large pieces I'm good with that - lol!
Peace,
Debbie
Yes. Most definitely worth it. The red is cheery, the "farm fresh" and the grain sack stripe are genius and the fabric is so CUTE! Paisley. Love it!!
I have to do mine, and I am dreading the chairs. I did one. It took 9 million years. So there is sits ;)
Ok... now we are talking! How are you so good girl? Wow...somebody stop ya! This turned out hello- drop dead farm fresh gorgeous!
I love it as my favorite color is RED! I do not envy you with those billion staples, they are sure a pain! Great job!
This looks great. Love the red. Your work paid off, in my view!

This is the cutest table I have seen in a long time! Oh how I love those red stripes, reminds me of a cute dishtowel! I am sure this will sell pronto!
I saw this on Shelly's Shizzel facebook page....love love love
this make over, I feel your pain I did a table and chairs a while back, and I said never again...but when I get over this Flu and fever, I am looking for a table to team with some roadside chairs I saved...Love the red and the fabric is great,

Lovely! Are you keeping it or selling? I always think I will do a table/chair set, but is so much time I never know if it will be worth my while

WoW! That's a totally gorgeous makeover! I love the colour and the fabric! Your grain sack stripes are simply marvellous!
I love your table! It looks great! I have a table I bought new from Walmart... their Better Homes and Gardens brand they carry. It's all black but I wonder what it would look like if I did the table top like yours but with black grain sack lines... hmmm... what do you think?

Just letting you know that the credit for the table you linked to is actually Blackberry House, not Vinewood Home Creations. Vinewood sells in my shop, and the woman who reposted a picture I posted on our facebook page misunderstood who painted the table. She saw Vinewood's name in the background of the picture on their signs, and she assumed the table was theirs as well. I'm the one who painted the table. Just wanted to let you know. We artists all want credit for our work, don't we?
lol

Thanks for linking up at Shabbilicious Friday
Love the red! What an amazing redo! Thanks for sharing at Monday Funday!
ps featured you tonight at Monday Funday! ;)
Like everyone else, I think you created a beautiful dining set. I also think painting chairs is more work than anything else! I absolutely love the fabric you used and tried to find it at Hobby Lobby. They had none like it. Do you happen to know the name or manufacturer? Perhaps I could find some online. Again, you do beautiful work.
I love what you did. And, it's great inspiration. I might do a French linen or a beat-up rustic ad. We'll see :)
I love the table! I just painted a bench with Cece Cauldwell's Traverse Red today, it was the first time I've used her paint. I'm curious how you like the Cauldwell paint. I am a little disappointed with the color, mine came out looking a little raspberry-ish so far.... I bought the dark wax too and that will be my next step. I'm curious how you like it.
Thanks
Susan
