Roadside Rescue Free Desk and Chair Makeover

Good Morning my Beauties.
Hope your new year is starting off GREAT!
We got the dishwasher installed yesterday and it only took us 8 hours..LOL!
So now I have time to write up a quick post
of my latest rescue project.

I got this desk for free as it was heading out to the trash...It sat about 3 months in my garage while I decided what I wanted to do with it.
Finally inspiration struck.

I was playing with my Ce Ce Caldwells paint and mixed up some custom colors.
The first was this smokey gray purple. I painted the whole base with that.
I then painted the drawers with a vintage white and the top with my ever so favorite..
Virginia Chestnut.

While that was drying I got started on another rescue. I got this chair while out on a walk one night
with the hubby. He actually tried to turn me down another road as we came upon it because he spotted it before me. He thought I might not have seen it...but oops too late...so he bucked up and even carried it home..LOL!~ I painted it the same as
the base of the desk.

I then used one of my favorite stencils on the seat to give it an even more chic look and
shabbied it up.

It then got waxed and distressed and buffed and then got some pretty new
mercury glass knobs.

I love how it all came together and only cost me what I already
had on hand. :)

I hope you enjoyed this little makeover. Happy to say the chair has already SOLD..
I don't think it was even in my booth a day.
Looks like I will have to go hunting for another rescue......
Have a BEAUTIFUL day!!!

Score! I can't believe somebody was happy to chuck that out! It looks stunning now that you've worked your magic. I adore those knobs! I've never seen anything like them before :)

Beaming with pride for you and your fabulous find!! In the spring our city will have their "anything goes" trash day and I always score some free roadside goodies.

Question: I sell items via a mall booth and my BF's Antique store. The 2-toned furniture is not my preferance but one of our girlfriends LOVES it. Do you have luck selling the 2-tones?

Thanks for always sharing your beauty.

They really turned out so pretty, love the graphics on the chair and the mercury knobs. If the "tossers" of this furniture could only see them now. The vignette you have is pretty too.

I bet it sold that fast! Stinking cute it was!! I always wonder what people would do if they saw what your did with their trash? Bet they would want it back!! After they picked up their jaw. hehe

So gorgeous, and I love the story with the chair! Good thing you didn't listen to your husband. Hey, you are going to Ireland with some of that cash you made from trash right? He should be encouraging your trashy ways!

Nice job - I love it!

Why do people toss out good pieces I will never know, but I am glad they do! Visiting from the POP party, would love for you to join me on Tuesday's for Pretty Things Link Party too :)

So cute! I love a good trash-picking. We found some amazing mid-century end tables in the neighbor's trash, but I haven't decided what to do with them yet.

This is lovely! My husband would have knocked me down to the ground to stop me from picking up yet another chair to fill his side of the garage, especially during snow season!

I love your work and I'm now following.
