Well hello again my Beauties...
Today I am going to show you the makeover of the armoire I had in my
Master bedroom Makeover..You can see that post of the full reveal HERE

This my friends is what it looked like before! It was a freebie that I got on a
call out of "its going if you can get it out of our basement"
and you can have it for FREE!!
Well...how could I say NO!

Even though it weighed about a billion pounds.
You can see the back was cut out for the whole entertainment center deal-eo...
I knew I was gonna fix that..so I wasn't too worried.

I got to painting it with my cece caldwells vintage white..and by the
time I finished the first coat...it was ready for a second coat.

once the paint was dry I got a nice white piece of beadboard that I already had in my stash and secured it to the back!
It fit perfect.
When it was done we finally managed to get it upstairs..(which involved use of a rubber mallet..
and my kids running upstairs to ask Daddy, why he was screaming like a girl) ???What it was an accident LOL..

Said hubby; (after he had forgiven me for accidently smacking his thumb with the rubber mallet) :)
Helped me install a shelving unit from target and then our own shelf for our TV and storage.
(You can't build to the sides becausee when the doors slide open they have to have space to slide in. )

I waxed and buffed her once she was in place, since I knew we were probably going to scratch some paint off getting her upstairs.
I then applied my stencil to the door fronts.

Here is the inside as organized as I get..I love the little drawers that were there originally for remotes and stuff..now they hold  UNMENTIONABLES..LOL..

and there you have the story of how we changed an outdated oak entertainment center
into a shabby chic French armoire ....FOR FREE!!!

I hope you all have a BEAUTIFUL day!

I love it. We have one that we got for free also... It is 1 million lbs too. It has glass on one side and I was thinking of turning it into a little bar.... I will post it I do. Yours looks fabulous. BTW.... I lOVE the colors of your bedroom. My tendency always is to lean towards earthy... yellow, green, and brown tones. I love them. It's nice to see a little color in peoples' homes!!!

Karin,
I saw your comment on ReDoux and went through your blog. Your work is beautiful and I was wondering if you ever sell it at venues? If so which ones? Please email me back at allmymusings@msn.com.

Thanx

Your armoire is awesome! I've painted two entertainment centers for my craft room, but still have one in my living room I'd like to do. Yours turned out great!

I'd love it if you would link this up to my new linky party, "What We Accomplished Wednesday." It is live right now.

Have a great week!
Hugs,
Deborah
