Vintage Valentines Box via Graphics Fairy

Good Morning my Beauties! Another Busy
weekend as usual around here but I was able to quick make a cute
little vintage valentines box.

I had this little box that was originally had ugly old green paint on it.
I gave it a coat of Traverse City Cherry from CeCe Caldwells; then it sat
for oh.....about 3 months..:)

Well Valentines is coming so what other way to jazz it up
but with a graphic from The Graphics Fairy. A cute little vintage girl.
I glued it down sanded around the edges a bit and then mod podged it.

It turned it into the cutest little vintage valentines box.

I hope you enjoyed this little tutorial and have a Beautiful Day!

Simple and Sweet Desk Makeover

Welcome back my BEAUTIES!
Sorry I have been MIA, but with the fire and
summer and our anniversary (on August 7th is our 21st wedding anniversary)
Things have been what you might call NUCKING FUTZ..:)
add to that the fact that we were in the middle of painting our house..
well you can imagine.
So I am hitting replay on this little old post that I almost forgot about.
I was scrolling through some old pics and had totally forgot about this
simple little makeover.
We had to get a new computer after the Power surge incident so that is the other reason
for this post. I will be without a computer for a couple days while
we transfer the old to the new.
So I wanted to thank you for sticking with me through this crazy summer.

I hope you enjoy this replay.

Today's post is gonna be simple and sweet...(just like me..:)  hee hee)
As School started we were launched instantly into what is the
crazy fall sports and beginning school year schedule. Between 3 kids in Soccer and one in Cross Country our weekends and weeknights are pretty tight. So I have not had a lot of time to work on posts.
I was able to snap a couple pictures of this desk I recently did so as my kids are brushing their teeth,
and climbing into bed I thought I would quick show you the makeover..

This was the desk before. It was in good condition besides that the top was pretty scratched up and
just kind of outdated so I knew it wouldn't need much prep work. It was missing a knob so I knew those would need to be replaced.

I didn't have a ton of time to sand the top of the desk so I went with one of my favorite standbys for giving a top a stained look with paint. I just used CeCe Caldwells Virginia Chestnut. I put 2 coats of it on in different directions and waxed it and buffed it up to a really nice shine.
For the base I custom mixed some other natural and clay based paints I had on hand. It gave it a nice gray/blue tint. When it was finished drying again I waxed and buffed it.
I need to replace all of the handles since the one was missing so I just recycled some simple black ones off of some free cupboard doors I had received from a friend..

And there you have it....a Simple and Sweet little desk makeover.
I hope you all have a wonderful start to your week.

Have a BEAUTIFUL Monday!
Hugs,
Karin

NAUTY Pallet art! Nautical Anchor art...get your minds out of the gutter......:)

Good Morning my BEAUTIES!
Man does that feel good to say again!
I have been a busy little beaver getting lots of little projects done
and trying to stock pile some finished furniture since
its down time for shopping at the booth.
I decided with the spring season and hopefully "fingers crossed"
summer like weather soon, that I should start working on some
fun COTTAGE art.
(not that I have a cottage, but for those that do..and love to shop...I love to make this kind of stuff for them)
I decided to make some NAUTY pallet art....You know.......?? NAUTICAL...:)

I put my boards together like I always do..You can see the post HERE on
how I assemble them.
I used CeCe Caldwells Smokey mountain and vintage white to give the boards a wash of color.
I then used my silhouette program to trace and cut a simple anchor shape.

Once I had used my transfer tape to transfer my vinyl stencil to my boards I used CeCe Caldwells
Coral paint to paint on my anchor. I love the contrast of the bright Coral color against
the faded blue and white boards.
When it was all dry I waxed and buffed the boards.

I love the simple fun of this piece.
I am not normally a nautical person
but after being in Florida for spring break
I just felt the need to do something
like this!
I hope you enjoyed this.
I can't wait for next week when I will show you some of the furniture
I have been working on.
Until then..
Go make someones day BEAUTIFUL!!!

Free Locker turned Vintage Pantry

This post is a sponsored post or  uses affiliate links to help you find the products I trust and love

Hello my BEAUTIES!
I hope you had a wonderful weekend!
We were camping and relaxing all weekend and
had lots of fun. It felt nice to relax..for a change..:)

I got a call last week that this piece I just brought in had sold...and
I couldn't be happier.
I got this free from my girlfriend who was doing a PURGE..
she said..I have a FREE locker..do you want it..???
YEAH!!!!!!!!

I brought it home and scraped off the fun stickers..and
Scrubbed it down.

I painted it with a coat of CeCe Caldwells Omaha Ochre..
I loved how it was cleaning up already, but I wanted it to be a fun vintage feeling piece.

I went to my silhouette and cut out a Pantry stencil that I had previously used.
Transferred it to my locker and painted on the stencil.

Here you have it..A vintage inspired LOCKER PANTRY.
I wanted to make something useable, vintage, and FUN.

I think it worked...:)
It was another piece I wished I had room for when it was done.
Hopefully the new owner is enjoying it!
